Why did you choose to open your business in New Ulm?

The reason we chose New Ulm was first, we asked God to direct us and put us in the right place according to His will, then He gave us the place.  We came, we got to know the city and the history of New Ulm and its visitors.  We thought it was a beautiful town, its people were very respectful and kind.  Finally, we looked at the need for a restaurant with authentic Mexican food and a different atmosphere and we want to be part of the development of the city.

How has the New Ulm EDA/newulmbusiness.com helped you with your business startup?

They helped with the startup licenses, business plan prep and now with the grant.

Tell us something exciting about your business.

Something interesting that characterizes Azteca’s is that it offers a delicious variety of authentic Mexican dishes that we prepare and make freshly upon order with family recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation, such as Molcajete Azteca, quesabirrias and chimichangas, and the enpecherado burrito wrapped in bacon.  Also our drinks such as margaritas and mojitos which are prepared at the moment with natural fruits, culture, and tradition.   We are open all day, including breakfast!  We have live entertainment and we welcome parties.  Something for the whole family!

Have you cooperated/contracted with any other local businesses or people during your startup?

Yes, we use local entertainment and contractors when available.  We have used Minnesota Plumbing LLC, Nuvera, and others.

What advice do you have for anyone else thinking of starting a business in New Ulm?

Best town to work with, very helpful and friendly.
