New Ulm EDA Highlights Local Businesses’ Commitment to Community

The New Ulm EDA is thrilled to announce a special feature celebrating local businesses that are dedicated to investing in our community. It is vital to acknowledge and support companies that continue to thrive as we navigate through a dynamic landscape.

Oak Hills Living Center is excited to announce a transformative $10 million renovation project, set to enhance the living conditions and overall experience for residents. This significant upgrade commenced in September 2024, with an anticipated completion date of March 2026.

Built in 1995, this marks the facility’s first major remodel, reflecting Oak Hills’ commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and modern environment for its residents. The renovations will be executed in nine phases, with the project currently in phase one.

Key improvements include improved lighting in resident rooms, increased storage space in resident bathrooms to enhance functionality, modernized kitchens designed to expand menu options, upgraded ventilation systems featuring bi-polar ionization technology to maximize infection control, comprehensive plumbing, elevator, and fire alarm system enhancements to ensure safety and accessibility, installation of a humidification system, upgraded nurse call system, and installation of new windows.

The project is expected to have a significant positive economic impact on the local area. Local businesses such as Full Service Electric, Klassen Plumbing & Heating, MR Paving and Excavating, Nuvera, and Quality Appliance will benefit by working on the project. Financing for the project was provided by United Prairie Bank.

Oak Hills Living Center aims to minimize disruptions for residents and their families while ensuring the highest standards of care continue throughout the renovation process.

The New Ulm EDA is dedicated to fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. Our goal is to create a thriving local economy by highlighting and celebrating the efforts of businesses that continue to invest in our community.
