New Ulm EDA Highlights Local Businesses’ Commitment to Community
The New Ulm EDA is thrilled to announce a special feature celebrating local businesses that are dedicated to investing in our community. It is vital to acknowledge and support companies that continue to thrive as we navigate through a dynamic landscape.
Weelborg Chevrolet of New Ulm hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of a transformative $3 million, two-phase expansion project. “This expansion is more than just bricks and mortar – it’s a reflection of our commitment to the New Ulm community and our belief in its future,” said Ann Perry, Chief Executive Officer of Weelborg Auto. “We are proud to have partnered with local contractors and created new jobs that directly benefit the local economy.”
The expansion added 10,000 square feet to the dealership, including a five-car showroom, a six-bay reconditioning center, additional hoist capacity, EV charging stations, and enhanced customer and employee spaces. These upgrades not only elevate the customer experience but also position the dealership to meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry. Equally significant is the dealership’s investment in people development. The addition of Steve Williams as General Manager brings nearly two decades of automotive leadership to New Ulm. His expertise spans sales, finance, operations, and customer experience.
Williams’ arrival has been complemented by strategic hires in both the sales and service departments, reinforcing Weelborg Chevrolet of New Ulm’s dedication to excellence and growth. Additionally, the dealership’s Lead Technician, Justin Dauer, achieved the GM World Class Technician designation in 2024. The GM World Class Technician status is the greatest honor a technician can receive.
The community is also invited to celebrate this exciting new chapter at Weelborg Chevrolet of New Ulm’s Open House, which will feature a classic car roll-in on August 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. Car enthusiasts can enter their vehicles for just $20, with all proceeds benefiting Cruising for Kids, a 501(c)3 organization which provides essential support to children and their families facing chronic illnesses in Redwood County. Local families can use these funds for medical bills, therapies, and other essential needs, providing families with peace of mind while they care for their children. The open house will also showcase the ATV Big Air Tour, promising high-flying stunts and family fun for all ages.
The New Ulm EDA is dedicated to fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. Our goal is to create a thriving local economy by highlighting and celebrating the efforts of businesses that invest in our community.
