Construction is underway at Westridge Place! The EDA is renovating a building at 1314 Westridge Road to rent to licensed childcare providers. The providers will operate under the pod model, where providers are allowed to operate in a shared space. Each pod will have its own classroom space and bathroom, but they will share some interior common space and outdoor playground areas.
Oleson & Hobbie is the architect, RW Carlstrom is the general contractor, and several local subcontractors are working on the project such as Haynes Plumbing & Heating and Paul’s Electric. Construction is expected to finish by late summer, and providers will be open for business sometime this fall. The building will provide approximately 40-45 much-needed child care slots for our community.
